Protesters charged following Shell garage incident

Four people arrested in connection with a protest at a Shell garage in Newnham Road, Cambridge, yesterday afternoon (21 February) have been charged.

A 21-year-old woman from Cambridge has been charged with criminal damage and obstructing or disrupting a person engaged in lawful activity. She has been remanded in custody to appear at Huntingdon Magistrates' Court today.

A 24-year-old man from London, a 32-year-old man from Suffolk and a 21 year-old man from Cambridge have been charged with aggravated trespass. They have been released to appear at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on 30 March.

The two men who are not from Cambridgeshire have been given bail conditions not to enter the county except to appear at court.

A 14-year-old girl from York, Yorkshire, who was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage was not held in custody. She was released and will be interviewed by officers today.
