Appeal following violent assault in Parnwell

30 Jul 2021

We are appealing for information after a woman was violently assaulted by two men in Parnwell earlier this month.

The woman, who is in her 30s, was walking back from the One Stop Shop near Henshaw at about 9.40pm on 18 July when she was approached by two men.

One of the men tried to grab her handbag from her shoulder, while the other man punched her in the face, fracturing her eye socket and nose.

She fell to the ground before being kicked by the pair.

One of the men is described as white, about 5’8”, medium build, in his late 20s to early 30s, clean shaven and sounded Eastern European. He was wearing a dark grey or black jumper and jeans.

The second man is also described as white, about 6’, medium build, in his late 20s to early 30s, had short brown messy hair and was wearing a black facemask, black jeans and a dark t-shirt. He is also described as sounding Eastern European.

DC Matt Reed, from the force’s Acquisitive Crime Team, said: “This was a horrific incident for the woman to have gone through, it was a completely unprovoked attack which has left her understandably shaken.

“My plea is to anyone who many have witnessed the incident, heard a commotion or saw two men running from the area around the time of the incident to get in touch.”
