Witness appeal following stabbing in Cambridge

Detectives investigating a stabbing in Cambridge are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

At about 1.20am yesterday (9 August) police were contacted with reports of violence in Regent Street.

Officers attended the scene and a man in his 20s was taken to hospital with stab wounds. His condition is described as stable.

Scenes of crime officers visited the location yesterday and an investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made.

Detective Sergeant Ashley Ryan said: “This was a vicious attack that could have been even worse.

“We know there were other people in the area at the time. I’d urge anyone who witnessed this incident or has information about it to contact us as a matter of urgency.”
