REQUEST UNDER THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 Ref No: FOI2019/03544

I write in connection with your request for information received on 31st May. I note you seek access to the following information:

I am writing under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to ask for the following information; Please provide the total amount of days taken off work by officers due to mental health-related illnesses or

conditions broken down by financial year from 2014-19 in the following format:

Financial year Days absence due to sickness

2014/15

2015/16

2016/17

2017/18

2018/19

In addition, please also provide the number of officers that have taken time off work due to mental health-related illnesses or conditions broken down by the type of illness (i.e. stress, anxiety, depression) and by financial year from 2014-19 in the following table format:

I am required by the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (The Act) to handle all requests in a manner that is blind to the identity of the requestor. Any information released in response to a request is regarded as being published and therefore, in the public domain without caveat.

Response

Cambridgeshire Constabulary has conducted a search within our Human Resources database for the information requested. Our database only records psychological illness as an illness/condition. Therefore we cannot answer question 2.

Please note figures show the total Officers sick per reporting year due to psychological illness, therefore if an absence goes into the next year the Officer will be counted against both years.

• 2014/15 = 59 (1,506 duty days)

• 2015/16 = 84 (3,035 duty days)

• 2016/17 = 101 (4,473 duty days)

• 2017/18 = 102 (4,449 duty days)

• 2018/19 = 121 (7,153 duty days)

The numerical data presented in this response is an un-audited snapshot of un-published data sourced from "live" systems and is subject to the interpretation of the original request by the individual extracting the data.
