REQUEST UNDER THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 Ref No: FOI2018/06958

I write in connection with your request for information received on 3rd December. I note you seek access to the following information:

Please find below a FOI request into hate crimes on under-18s. I’d like to know figures broken down by the type of hate crime into annual datasets of the last 3 years – and I’d like to know ages and genders, if possible. Thank you,

1. Please provide for each of last three years (1 April 2015 – 31 March 2016, 1 April 2016 – 31 March 2017, 1 April 2017– 31 March 2018) a total of offences which have been recorded/flagged as a race hate crime where the victim is under 18. For each year, please provide this information in a breakdown by age and by gender.

Please also provide a list of the offences.

2. Please provide for each of last three years (1 April 2015 – 31 March 2016, 1 April 2016 – 31 March 2017, 1 April 2017– 31 March 2018) a total of offences which have been recorded/flagged as a religious/faith hate crime where the victim is under 18. For each year, please provide this information in a breakdown by age and by gender. Please also provide a list of the offences.

3. Please provide for each of last three years (1 April 2015 – 31 March 2016, 1 April 2016 – 31 March 2017, 1 April 2017– 31 March 2018) a total of offences which have been recorded/flagged as a disability hate crime where the victim is under 18. For each year, please provide this information in a breakdown by age and by gender.

Please also provide a list of the offences.

4. Please provide for each of last three years (1 April 2015 – 31 March 2016, 1 April 2016 – 31 March 2017, 1 April 2017– 31 March 2018) a total of offences which have been recorded/flagged as a LGBTQ+ hate crime where the victim is under 18. For each year, please provide this information in a breakdown by age and by gender.

Please also provide a list of the offences.

5. Please provide for each of last three years (1 April 2015 – 31 March 2016, 1 April 2016 – 31 March 2017, 1 April 2017– 31 March 2018) a total of offences which have been recorded/flagged as a transgender hate crime where the victim is under 18. For each year, please provide this information in a breakdown by age and by gender. Please also provide a list of the offences.

I am required by the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (The Act) to handle all requests in a manner that is blind to the identity of the requestor. Any information released in response to a request is regarded as being published and therefore, in the public domain without caveat.

Response – Cambridgeshire Constabulary has conducted a search of our crime recording system.
