Prostitution

In the UK, adult prostitution is legal, but many things associated with prostitution are not.

Someone who 'sells' sex should be suspected as a victim of crime and exploitation. They should be offered help and guidance to find ways to get out of prostituting themselves.

Crimes associated with prostitution are extremely varied such as trafficking, drugs and abuse.

Whilst prostitution can be seen as a nuisance by a community, concerns for such actions should be reported to us. This helps us to take positive action to investigate any potential criminal activity and to ensure those soliciting sex services are offered support and are safe.

More information around prostitution and the legalities of this activity can be viewed on the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) website.
