Week 1 - Point eight
Point eight - Provide monthly updates on progress, and on local crime and policing issues. This will include the provision of crime maps, information on specific crimes and what happened to those brought to justice, details of what action we and our partners are taking to make your neighbourhood safer and information on how your force is performing.
ENSURING the public are updated on the progress of local crime and issues is just one of the promises made in point eight of the national Policing Pledge.
As part of the first week of the 'We promised and delivered' campaign will focus on point eight which also pledges to keep the public informed of those brought to justice.
The week coincides with national 'Inside Justice Week' which runs from Monday (October 19) and sees the opening of the justice system to the public to raise awareness of each agency's role.
Inside Justice Week is an annual campaign to open up the justice system to members of the public. Local communities will have the chance to see how the justice system is working in Cambridgeshire as this year's Inside Justice Week gets under way between 19 and 23 October 2009.

Chief Constable Julie Spence said: "Point eight of the Pledge is really about ensuring the public are aware of the issues we are tackling on their behalf and how that work is being conducted.
"An essential element of the promise is the commitment to make the public aware of when justice is served.
"This is important not only for victims of crime but also the local community who can also be affected by crime in their area.
"We will continue to work closely with our colleagues within the justice system to ensure victims are kept up to date and use all the tools available to us to ensure the local community know when a crime in their area has been solved and the offender brought to justice."
Local crime information is available through crime mapping and every neighbourhood team has their own 'My neighbourhood' section with information about how local priorities are being tackled, neighbourhood crime and how the public can get involved in policing in their area.
Updates on crime and action to tackle the public's concerns are provided at quarterly panel meetings with neighbourhood teams, as well as regular police surgeries.
The public can stay in touch with their local team and receive regular updates on their work by signing up to the force's e-cops scheme. Members of e-cops receive regular email updates about the activities of their team, court results and crime prevention advice.
Mrs Spence added: "We have a variety of tools which enable us to stay in touch with the public and ensure they are aware of the work we are doing.
"For some people panel meetings and surgeries are not a convenient way to stay in touch with their local officers which is why schemes like e-cops are so important.
"It enables the public to keep informed at their convenience."
