POLICE are appealing for information about a series of meter thefts in Cambridge.
There have been seven incidents since November, where thieves have stolen thousands of pounds from pay and display machines.
The first happened in Sidgwick Avenue on November 12, at around 7.30pm and in Sturton Street on the same night at 9.45pm.
Other parking meters have been targeted in Canterbury Street, Clarendon Road, Kingston Street and Shaftesbury Road.
The latest incident happened on Monday (November 26) at Sturton Street and Newmarket Road at 9pm.
Detective Constable Amie Meston, investigating, said: "I would appeal to anyone who may have been buying a ticket from these meters and saw anything or anyone acting suspiciously to contact me."
A spokesman for Cambridgeshire County Council, said: "We would urge anyone who has any information about these thefts to contact Cambridgeshire police.
"Damage to the pay and display machines will add to the cost of providing parking provision in Cambridge and the ability of motorists to use the available on street parking spaces."
