You can also download a copy of Your business: Keep crime out of it, a booklet published by the Home Office providing practical information to help businesses identify any security risks and take measure to reduce crime.
Secured by Design
This is a police initiative that encourages property developers and owners to design out crime. For information on doors, windows and lock security visit the Secured by Design website. Research has shown that following Secured by Design guidelines can reduce your chances of burglary and car crime by 50%. The site also gives advice on security standards and allows you to search over 200 companies with products meeting the Police Preferred Specification.
Master Locksmith Association
A not-for-profit trade association, the Master Locksmiths Association (MLA) licenses its approved companies through strict vetting and regular assessments in order to ensure quality of service and provide peace of mind to the end customer.

The MLA has been instrumental in campaigning for national standards in the locksmith industry and the regulation (through licensing) of the private security industry. -
British Standards Institute
The MLA supplies a panel of its members to assess locks under BS3621 clauses 4 and 10 on their behalf. -
Sold Secure
An attack test house, wholly owned by the MLA. It operates its own scheme, which is recognised by the Home Office, insurers and police. All testers are MLA members and the assessments are to its' own high specifications. - Association of British Insurers (ABI), Building Research Establishment (BRE) and many other trade and professional bodies all acknowledge the MLA as the authoritative body in its field.
NETCU (National Extremism Tactical Co-ordination Unit)
NETCU promotes a co-ordinated response to domestic extremism by providing information and guidance to industry.
